Prairie Element Carpentry is operated out of the Saskatoon region by Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter and licensed Building Official Matthew Unruh.  Co-owner and business economist, Shannon Unruh, manages the business aspect of Prairie Element Carpentry. Prairie Element Carpentry specializes in various aspects of carpentry and housing development. From the beginning we have been committed to excellence in all aspects of our trade. We offer professional and skilled carpentry and contracting services to our customers by providing educated and skilled tradesmen.

We are licensed, insured and operate with proper permits in Saskatoon and area districts.  We manage clean and safe work sites and take pride in our excellent WCB safety record since our incorporation in 2010.

DEVELOPMENTS AND RENOVATIONS

We are able to manage developments and renovations of all kinds. We can help you with your bathroom and kitchen restorations, basement developments and garage packages. We can help you contract from start to finish or sub contract the portion of work that you choose.  

WINDOWS/DOORS AND SIDING PACKAGES

We can replace individual windows and doors  that are not performing anymore or upgrade your entire home. We can provide new windows, insulation and siding to a drafty and dated house, improving your energy efficiency and curb appeal. 

Decks and Fences

We are comfortable working with many different types of materials and designs on your summertime retreat.  Our fences are sturdy and straight and we can accomodate many different types of styles you may wish to incorporate

Interior Finish

Fine carpentry is our passion especially in winter.  We have custom designed many fireplace mantles, crown moulding, shelving to showcase your room and mudroom lockers that help organize your entrance.  We sub contract new houses and have often done the finishing work behind our own framing work.  We have installed all types of trim and doors and update many older homes with modern finishes as well.  Sometimes we upgrade modern homes with a more classic look too! 

FRAMING

We have successfully and proudly framed many houses of all kinds over the years. We have framed large custom homes, duplexes, ready to move homes, garages, shops and wood framed basements. We have an excellent reputation with our builders for quality and prompt service. We have proper license for telehandlers, fall arrest, PPE and first aid. 

INSULATION AND DRYWALL

Your home will be nice and warm with properly installed batts of insulation and properly sealed vapour barriers. Drywall is installed with properly located and minimal joints. Screws are located correctly and properly set.

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Over the years we have been called upon to do many small and unique projects like reclaimed wood barn doors, custom shelving for difficult spaces, shower doors and storm door installs. We are knowledgeable and experienced in the residential building code and can help you with various household repairs and upkeep.
